  Rust for Fisticuffs!
Posted by: forumqueen - 18-02-2014, 10:05 PM - Forum: Fisticuffs Fridays - Replies (3)

I highly recommend doing Rust for Fisticuffs Fridays.

In my first day of the game, I was mercilessly hunted, taunted, trapped and killed by various groups of individuals, some of them naked, some of them clothed.
Oddly, it was a lot of fun. Once I figured out how to craft things, and how to hunt down my own poor victims the game got a lot better. It takes a bit of getting used to, and the hackers are a massive problem that needs to be rectified as soon as possible.
My best experience would probably have been solo raiding a massive base, escaping with just over 10 HP and then being hit with a rock by a newly spawned player and losing everything. At least it made his day.

Player interaction: sometimes scary, mostly fatal.
Crafting: lots of weapon options for people to steal from me
Large map with all sorts of crazy stuff: Bears, zombies, wolves, chickens, rabbits, pigs and naked men.
Price: Well worth it for $20.

Shooting on sight: not the one.
Hacking: Every server I've played has had at least a few hackers or so come by, makes life difficult.
Also super addictive..

Sony has sold over 5.3 million PlayStation 4 consoles worldwide
Posted by: AdminGG - 18-02-2014, 09:04 PM - Forum: Video Games - Replies (4)

After the most recent NPD figures showed strong US sales for the PlayStation 4 in January, Sony has provided an update on the console's worldwide performance since it launched in November. Over 5.3 million PS4 systems have been sold through around the world as of February 8th, ahead of its release this Saturday in Sony's home territory of Japan. The company had previously forecast sales of five million units in the financial year ending March 2014.

The last sales figures released by Microsoft indicated that 3.9 million Xbox One consoles had been sold to retail channels worldwide as of January 23rd. Sony managed to sell "nearly double" the number of systems last month in the US, Microsoft's traditional stronghold.

Nintendo, meanwhile, has sold 5.83 million Wii U consoles to date over a year since its release date, meaning Sony's system is moving units at more than four times the pace. While the Japanese PS4 launch should give Sony a further sales boost, March 11th sees the release of Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall on Xbox One, perhaps the most anticipated next-generation title to date.

Wii U units to date (13 months): 5.8 mill SHIPPED (including shipped)
Xbone units to date (<3 months): 3.8 mill (including shipped)
PS4 units to date (<3 months): 5.3 mill SOLD

Amazing stuff, really trying to hold on getting one. But with the release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes next month, I am not sure if I can.

What we're all using to game on right now
Posted by: GrayMatterNZ - 18-02-2014, 09:00 PM - Forum: Video Games - Replies (37)

Here's my laptop, an HP Envy 15 J006AX. It's not an absolute beast, but it does the job whenever I want to game without interruption. Not pictured: the external disc drive and HDD.
