Are they planning, sorting logistics, acquiring equipment, etc as well, or are they only the extraction part of the operation?

Everything, you only had time to contact these three characters before you were kidnapped.

Although for example if you were to recruit James Bond, he would have the equipment and help of MI6. But if you had Spiderman then you basically just get Spiderman

One Punch Man, Geralt, and Y.V.

So a dude who kills everything instantly, a Gun God, and then Geralt just makes sarcastic remakes and casts some spells occasionally?

Pretty set either way.

Kim Possible because she's just all round badass, Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls because she's kick everyone's butts into gear and Jessica Jones. Because of course.

In which case:

Captain Shane "Scarecrow" Schofield - The Leader

Shane Schofield (callsign Scarecrow) is the main character of Matthew Reilly's Scarecrow series of novels. He holds the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps, and as such has access to equipment and tactical support that would prove useful in the field.

He is known for use of high-risk tactical manoeuvres is the face of extreme danger, not due to any particular love of danger, but because of his belief that every impossible situation has a "way out" for him and the soldiers under his command. An expert in small-scale skirmish tactics and execution, and a penchant for not leaving anyone behind, Scarecrow is exactly the kind of man I want leading my rescue.

"Rumour has it, he's a good man in a storm." -Area 7 blurb

Jace Beleren - The Negotiator

A human Planeswalker from Vryn, Jace is a mage specialising in illusion, clairvoyance and telepathy. The advantages of having such a unique talent pool speak for themselves, as his ability to infiltrate and deceive most enemy compounds will be invaluable.

İmage

Not only this, but his role as The Living Guildpact of Ravnica demonstrates his immense ability of negotiation through mediating ten warring guilds.

A perfect addition to my rescue.

"I don't need to have the perfect plan. My foe just has to have an imperfect one." -Jace Beleren

Anakin Skywalker - The Technician

Sometimes, when everything goes to Hell in a handcart, you need a certain kind of person. No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy, and you find yourself surrounded, outgunned and outmanoeuvred. In those kinds of situations you need a soldier who feels most at peace in the heat of battle. Who will do anything and everything to make sure that you and him get out of there alive, and is willing to take down any sonovabitch who stands in the way. A force of nature.

Anakin Skywalker is that man.

And in the worst case scenario of your untimely death, you need someone who will hunt down every single last bastard responsible, and deliver them your coldest regards. A contingency plan.

Skywalker.

Not only that, but he is a master of all things mechanical, singlehandedly building a fully working protocol droid as well as a goddamn podracer. Out of spare parts. At the age of ten.

Best of all, he's the most qualified getaway driver you could ever want.

"I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too." -Anakin Skywalker

Granted I have only heard of Anakin, but great post nonetheless. Very detailed and great justifications of your choices.

My choices are below:

Gustavo Fring (Breaking Bad)  - Leader / Planner

Gus Fring is the kind of cold, calculating badass I want leading and planning my rescue mission. Plans everything down to the minutest detail and always seems to be one step ahead of his enemies.

Darth Vader (Star Wars: Rebels season 2) - Muscle / Getaway Driver

Probably biased due to having just started season 2 today, but holy crap Darth Vader at the height of his power is truly terrifying. Insanely powerful physically, strong in the force, amazing pilot etc. Basically everything Selegraphon mentioned above.

Rick (Rick and Morty) - Technician / Scientist

Rick is my technician of choice (which also frees Vader up to focus on destroying my enemies and piloting the getaway vehicle). Able to come up with any sort of device which will be needed during this mission (and several others that aren't needed). Hell, a Meeseeks box alone provides me with an army who will stop at nothing to free me
