Dumb me.

oh crazy, it is! It's a Destiny's Child cover.
fuck me

Guess I'm gonna have to start listening to Destiny's Child.

The song got me thinking of homosexual relationships and lack of established gender roles as a basis to reject or embrace or whatever.
I'm not sure if that's a real thing(no personal experience), but I imagine because it is so underportrayed in media and stuff, you'd have less of a sense of classical relationship behaviours to follow. It seems like that sort of thing would be more resistant to status quo, the early part of the relationship might be more exploratory? I dunno.

but, it's a Destiny's Child cover, the song was written from the perspective of a woman. Way to break the song, heterosexuality.

Well the original doesn't quite have the charm that the TMBG's version did.
Why would you have 4 vocalists to sing the same lines it's crazy. CRAZY. and not one with an electric guitar I'm so out of my depth

I just want to go on record:

I love how you're so on-target that you assumed the TMBG cover was a commentary about homosexual relationship dynamics.

I love you, man

The original's actually alright, and I'm biased, but this cover's fantastic, IMHO.

Hey, also, just to break all illusions here: John Linnell (the guy on keys) is always the middle aged guy I imagined you'd turn into when your life fell apart.

so I read up about him:
first line of Wikipedia: Wrote: John Sidney Linnell (born June 12, 1959, in New York City) is an American musician, known primarily as one half of Brooklyn,

I can't wait. I am ready to have some resemblance to that
