I thought he was a "too big to parry" type boss. Also fuck him, and fuck the blue one in the DLC.

Also also, you can roll smelter demons attacks way easier than you can roll around Gwyn.

Decided to pick up Demon's Souls after thinking about doing so for ages. Got some time to fill before new games are out and I kinda want to be able to say I've played all the From Software games in this style.
Started it a week ago, but haven't had loads of time to play. So far its ok. It's the first go they had at making this sort of game, and it shows. Alot of the ideas and gameplay are what became a more fleshed-out Dark Souls 1. The level design is all here, with nice sprawling levels interconnected with shortcuts. It's a bit more brutal with check points than later games were, a lot less "bone fires" (archstones in this one). Each level only has one after a boss, with only 3-4 areas per level. This game also has a hub world, and 5 main levels to go to. So its easier to track progression, its just go here, kill the boss, get the soul, then move on. Although its easier to do the first level of each world to build yourself up a bit. Pretty blood hard so far as well, but can also be blamed on its age. First boss was sweet, second was a pain, yet to see anything else. So far its all good though. Its got a lot of performance hiccups of PS3, lot's of framerate issues and lag. And the same problems DS1 has with poor lighting, janky terrain, more ridged movement etc. Liams Wrote:make a car out of scrap metal from genie lamps

did you know that the colours turquoise and teal both have natural origins?

Ok I've finished Demon's Souls. I was level 76 and it took me 17h:39m. Given the average seems to be 30 hours thats pretty dam quick. I wasn't rushing though... First level of each area took the longest, then the second area was way shorter, then the third area of each level was a Demon Soul holding boss immediately, no level to explore. The game went by really quickly once I finished the first level of each area.
Its a really good game! Still holds up great! It's basically just Dark Souls 1, except no body played it. Dark Souls 1 is really just a rehash of this game, locations, bosses, items etc. DS1 is just more realized and fleshed out. Still had all typical issues of their earlier games: slightly clunky controls, bad lighting, bad camera, OK graphics etc. Still had impressive moments though! I just figured out i died to a boss once, every other boss I defeated first time. This game is not as difficult as any of the others in the series at all.... Would recommend if you are a big fan of the series. But would not recommend as the first game to play at all. Really it would just be if you are interested after playing all the others. NEW RATING: Bloodborne > DS3 ≥ DS1 > Demon's Souls ≥ DS2 Liams Wrote:make a car out of scrap metal from genie lamps

I'm part of the club now, I told Jordan I'd beat a game of his choice when he beat OOT... Son of a gun I wasn't expecting him to, as he had given no sign of wanting to play it. Then he just screenshots me the end credits... and so my journey begins.
I was going to start with Bloodborne, I had a feeling I'd enjoy it but Jordy sent me to the beginning(minus DemonSoul) Dark Souls 1... I remember Jordan saying "you don't have to rush it, I'll be surprised if you complete it". I'm not a dude who's played many tough games IMHO and I'm not above easy mode haha. However, I am also the most stubborn person I know, so there was no way I was going to quit this game until I had end credit on my screen. Darksouls - PS4 9.5/10 This is now one of my favourite games of all time, it feels a bit like a 10/10 tbh. It's not as hard as some say, which was one of the main things that stopped me from playing it in the first place( I don't really find value in just suffering because a game is hard, just to be ...hard). For the most part, the game is very... fair. There are moments of bullshit, if you don't know what it is that is needed to be done. It's a well-designed game and very rewarding when you can finally take down an enemy that stomped you at level 8(Havel)... I finally got my revenge, I took out a black knight early after a well-fought battle and thought Havel was well another black knight... The bugger stomped me 3 times until I got the point. I tried to beat the first tutorial boss with a broken sword hilt, nearly got him too after a 15-20 minute battle(Until I was informed you run past him and come back). Level design is pretty good, I wish you had more variety of warp points. I got pretty good at remembering paths but some you still need to traverse quite a bit. I think some levels were harder than most bosses, the tomb of the giants with no light is a bit of a shit time, I guess a second play through you know you can use the sunmaggot and you know the layout better. Anor Londo Archers were easy when I knew a tactic to deal with them but, damn did they make my life hell for a small portion of the game...if you know you know. The only bosses that caught me out were Quelagg I was a low level, cursed (permanent half health), and dealing with poison. So I had to kill her in a perfect run with no hits or GG(it felt like an eternity maybe 20 plus times) and the last boss Gwyn gave me a whooping, until I changed armour and got good... When I completed the game I automatically started to play through again, I guess that demonstrates its replayability and how good it really is. Level design and boss design are top-notch and the best part is I can play Darksouls 2,3 and Bloodborne. So I've got more to look forward to.
