Chronologically Ordered list of beaten games.
Just writing a list of games I've completed in the last few years. What are some of yours?
Now, these I've tried to rate harshly ,I want a 10 to mean something. If I don't vibe with a game I just won't finish it.
2017

Breath of the Wild -WiiU 10/10Refreshing and a really good experience. 10/10
Ocarina of Time -N64 10/10 Again, I really wanted to see after beating Breath of the Wild if I had the same love for this Zelda game. It's been my favourite for a long long time! 10/10 Conclusion torn between the new and the rose-tinted nostalgic journey.
Bayonetta -WiiU 6/10 Fun but meh, Just a devil may cry/god of war game in a new skin.
Klonoa -Wii 8.5/10...maybe a 9. Really great games 2.5D platformer. A remake of the PS1 game
Luigi's Mansion -NGC 8/10 Nice and unique game.
Final Fantasy X -PS2  9.5/10 The last good turn-based FF game. The first ps2 game I saw with cinematics I thought would be the pinicle forever. I love the characters and story in this game.
Kingdom Hearts 1 -PS2  8.5/10 It's a game that ticked a lot of boxes and threw a tone of nostalgic characters at you.
Kingdom Hearts 2 -PS2  8.5/10 Painfully slow few 2 hours of the game and then gets better that intro song must be one of the best.
The Last of Us -PS4  9.5/10 This game blew me away when I first played it, many games since have copied it. It shouldn't take away from this game but over time I do wonder if it's too over hyped.
Xenoblade X -WiiU 7/10 Meh, the characters' stories are only developed through side quests so you really don't care for or connect with them(Unless you dive into 200hours). Good concept and nice open world.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 -NS 10/10 Most other users I imagine will feel it's an 8/10. 140 hours later, if you enjoyed the Wii original you'll enjoy this.
Beyond Two Souls -PS3 6/10 Really great story and twist but it's not a game for everyone. Is it a visual novel? The first game of this type that I'd played, so I think I enjoyed it more based on that.
Heavy Rain -PS3 6/10 I didn't predict the villain.
The Stanley Parable - PC 4/10 Found it weird and boring.
Uncharted 2 -PS3 6.5 Overrated pretty boring hype job maybe I had it ruined by the hype.
Beavis and Butthead -SMD 7/10 Great co-op sega game tough as nails!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe -NS 8.5/10 A great entry in the Mario Kart Series

2018

South Park Stick of Truth -360 9/10. What a refreshing take on the RPG genre but too easy. Great for a laugh and cruisy RPG.
South Park Fracture But Whole -NS 8.5/10 I had to after the first! Combat developed from turn-based RPG to a fire emblem turn-based strategy game at first I wasn't sold by the end I was.
Pokken -NS 6/10 Meh, fun idea but boring.
Mario Oddesy -NS 10/10 Brilliant! This Galaxy 1/2 and Super Mario 64 are 10s
Final Fantasy 7 - PS1 8.5/10 Better than I remember, I played disc 1 as a kid, completed at 15. So playing it again was a refresher. I think it's overrated but still very good!
Mario Tennis Aces -NS 6/10 Great multiplayer game, the story mode was a nice try but it just missed being fun somehow.
Batman Tell Tales -NS 6.5/10
God of War -PS4 10/10 This is how you refresh a franchise, great character development, doesn't forget its roots, the story is good the bond between father and son was done well. Combat done well, the right ratio of puzzles, combat and story.
Horizon Zero Dawn -PS4 9/10 Great game! Fun story, great combat and Scenic
Bio Shock infinite -360 6.5/10 Crazy story! Mind bender but the gameplay was meh.
Super Smash Ultimate -NS 9/10 World of light was meh but you know why we get Smash. The multiplayer and character variety is great!
Dragon Fighters Z  -NS 7/10
Octopath Traveller -NS 8.5/10 What a beautiful game design! What a tribute to the 16-bit RPGs of yesteryear! I might just like this as much as I do because I was longing for a classic RPG. Beautiful art style!
Crash n' sane trilogy -NS 7/10 Harder than I remember... Great job on the remake it looks amazing. Physics feel a little off.
Spyro Year of the Dragon -PS1 9/10 Like an old friend coming to visit. This game is a casual stroll and an easy game to fully complete.
The Bridge -NS 4/10.. Surprised me 4 dollar game and I enjoyed solving puzzles.
Pokemon Quest -NS 5/10 I fell down the rabbit hole here 250 hours. It's not a good game but it was free and I.. I.. I like pokemon? I think I just wanted to catch them all.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 -NS 5.5/10, Kind of fun in the beginning but repetitive.
Fable 3 -360 5/10
Catherine -PS3 9/10 Ohhhhhh. A must play for me it's a 9/10 but I loved the puzzle solving as a kid I'd hate a puzzle solver as an adult they've grown on me!
Yoshi Story -N64 8/10... If you're ever feeling down the colours are sure to brighten up your day and easy platformer that never got the credit it deserved.
Pokemon Alpha Saphire -3DS 6.5/10
Streets of Rage -SMD 7/10 Just a classic. The 80s theme, music, and feel of this game are great with the added bonus of co op.
Final Fight - SegaCD 6.5/10 Maybe I'm to harsh on Final Fight but after streets of rage the character movement feels stiff and jarring. The music from the cd is a bonus but the game felt a bit lifeless.
Breath of the Wild...Again and DLC -NS 10/10
Batman VR - PS4 7/10 My introduction to VR mind-blowing and sold me on the idea short but solid game! 7/10
Tricky Towers -NS 7.5/10 Great for everyone! Non-gamers just brings everyone one in simple concept. Easy to play hard to master.
Crawl -NS 7/10 A great example of don't judge a book by it's cover. I really didn't think I like this game! I've had a blast play this with friends a great multiplayer game!
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna - NS 6.5/10 With Xenoblade Chronicles (wii) and Chronicles 2(switch) being one of my favourite games of all time I really wanted to enjoy this prequel to #2 the story was fulfilling, mechanics were good but the was just compulsory side quests to progress the games it was just a cheap money grab but the visuals and world was great so it was a missed opportunity...sign... Inner fanboy took the hook, line and sinker on this one.
Super Mario Party -NS..6.5/10 Really glad the game went back to its origins a step in the right direction but it was missing the brutality of the first 7 games.
Wind Jammers - PS4 8/10 Didn't understand the hype, I thought it was going to be boring...My physical copy from limited run games is in the mail...
Tekken 3 - Pi 8.5 My favourite in the series I grew up playing this version, went through unlocked all the characters. Love this game
Dragons Lair - Sega CD 6/10... So you think dark souls is hard? Try this game in original form with no prompts....
Wirehead - Sega CD 6/10 I feel it deserves but the got 7.5/10 enjoyment from it. A movie you control there was an era on the Mega CD where video base games became a thing like dragons lair. A friend and I played this for like 4 hours trying to memorise how to get to the end. Part of what made it so fun just sitting down with a friend I think. Like the good old days.

2019

Majoras Mask -N64 9/10. maybe an 8.5/10 is it overrated?
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance -NGC 8.5/10 Long game, tough and intensive combat permanently losing (30ish) units is a learning curve!
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn -Wii 9/10 It's just a step up from its previous game seriously a hidden gem here. Progress. I only lost 2 units this time.
Undertale -NS 9/10 maybe even a 10/10 I'm unsure. It plays with your typical RPG tropes and warps them. Must play in my book.
Let's Go Pikachu -NS 7.5/10 Great remake I was skeptical of the new mechanics but it made the game far faster and less grindy. The experience and nostalgia minus the invested time however, the post-game! They've added 151 master trainers to fight, the Gyms are all now high levels and 3 More Rivals! So for those seeking a bit more and a challenge, there's a lot there!
Wonder Boy Dragons Trap -NS 7.5/10 The quality of this game really surprised me! What a great adventure!
Grimm Fandango -NS 7.5/10 I had a lot of fun play this. Quirky and satisfying game.
Skyrim -NS 8.5/10 I'm late to the party here, it's clunky but for how old the game is what a gem! Maybe its rating should be higher.
Persona 3 -PS2 7.5/10 Hype killed it for me, it was lackluster maybe not lackluster but grindy so it took a loooong time to beat. The end was sad and beautiful.
Alex Kidd -SMD 5/10 SMS original I feel was better.
Metal Slug 1 -Pi 7/10 I'd hate to think of the number of coins these arcades robbed children of.
Metal Slug 2 -Pi 7/10
Metal Slug 3 -Pi 7/10
Metal Slug 4 -Pi 7/10
Metal Slug 6 -  I haven't played, I stand corrected four in a row melted my mind! Great games! But they don't change much, bad guys, aliens... and oh wait Zombies!?
Valiant Hearts -NS 6.5 Nice surprise here, I wasn't expecting much but great little gem here.
Master of Darkness -SMS 7/10 certain parts easy and the last boss not so much...
Dr. Mario -N64 6.5/10 I dig this game! Nintendo answer to Tetris with multiplayer and a story.
Kingdom Heart 3 -PS4 6.5/10
Pandoras Tower -Wii  9.5/10 hidden Gem. Great dungeon design, an interesting mix of JRPG and a shadow of the colossus feel here.
Spec Ops -PS3 7/10 Great wee gem.
C.T.R. - NS remake 9.5/10 tied with Mario Kart 64 for greatest kart racer of all time
Dragon Quest Builders 2 - 8/10 NS I don't even know if it's good I'm just so addicted....
Fire Emblem Three Houses - NS  9.5/10 NS Loved it couldn't put it down 70 hours, many choices in the story, characters and great strategy games that you can play in so many ways maybe my game of the year at the present point. I didn't lose a single unit in this game.
Yooka Laylee - NS 8/10 Loved it a great spiritual successor to the Banjo series, doesn't deserve its heavy criticism. Fanboys need to take off the rose-tinted glasses and chill this game is every bit as good as the O.G. Banjo games(and I'm a Nintendo fanboy...).
Tales of Vesperia - NS 7.5/10 Tales games are interesting because they're kinda wooden with the character animation, but the cut scenes and amount of dialogue full flesh out characters over the journey. Some of the hard-hitting moments are limited in the delivery but the game is a great take on the JRPG franchise.
Final Fantasy VIII - NS For me 10/10 for others, I'd rate it 8/10 ;). Playing this remaster is the best way to play it as long as you can resist the urge to cheat. You rob yourself. Now this being my personal favourite FF game, I'm bias as hell (completed this game around 5 times). I feel it didn't get the deserved credit it deserved, a shallow look at the game the story is convoluted. The more you look at it and put in in context the more it makes sense. Using Guardian Forces slowly erase memory, I kind of like the idea that everything has its cost and nothing is free. You obtain instant unearned power and there's a cost. You're child soldiers, that's bound to cause the mind to collapse and shatter memories in self-preservation. I feel the plot can be hard to follow so people dislike it because they don't understand it. My first FF game I completed and I like them in order of 8>10>7>12>6 that'd be my top 5.
Snipper Clips - NS This game is a brilliant co-op puzzle solver, on your own meh 3/10 with a player 2 it's a blast! 7/10
Astral Chain - 9/10 Banging game great balance of fighting, story and puzzle-solving(not tough puzzle but fun)!
Links Awakening Remake - NS 8.5/10 Better game than I expected bosses were easy, dungeons great and the art choice was perfect!
Untitled Goose Game - NS 7/10 -You get to be an arsehole goose with objectives, it's nice to see something a little different.
Oninaki - NS 7.5/10 - Great concept and plot, wee bit grindy through the dungeons but a solid game with good mechanics.
Mortal Kombat 11 - NS 7/10 - Interesting port impressive but the anti-aliasing right after the fight is emersion breaking beards and hair look terrible!
Saturday Morning RPG - NS 5/10 - Funny a little RPG piss-take great little 5 hours rpg with a good sense of humour.
Celeste - NS 8.5/10 A bit tough for me. Not my normal kind of game but something special! Beautiful story here.
L.A. Noire - NS 7/10 - I love the clues and the system for investigating. Refreshing to have something a little different.
Shaq Fu - NS 4 or 5/10 it's a shit game really but I'd have fun in co-op wait I'm not sure it's even co-op. It's a beat em up style game with little depth.
Transistor - NS ?/10 First impression I liked the animation but it being darker than bastion I wasn't a fan of but it eventually won me over and ended up better than Bastion. Similar style of game with a few improvements to combat.
Pokemon Snap - N64 6/10 - I really want to like this game. I mean I do but I know it's nostalgia, not great gameplay. You photograph pokemon unlock tool to 'catch em all' on film. I enjoyed it for the first hour. I soon began to tire of doing the same courses over and over again. I played this once at an EB games demo unit in a store so it wasn't enough for me to memorise what to do. It was neat to see 3D pokemon in their environments doing their thing. I imagine if you knew how to beat it, it would be a fun flashback.
Luigi's Mansion 3 - NS 8.5/10 Great Follow up in the series. Follows the formula pretty standard except it's more level based... There's a terrible pun...
Pokemon Sword - NS 8.5/10 I've personally really enjoyed this game a lot of positives and really nice direction in the series. Also, there is a lot of valid criticism, nat dex, easy, graphics but there is also a lot of game here and a lot of good.

2020

The Witcher 3 - NS 10/10 One of the greatest games I've played, the gritty story telling and thrown 130hours in Wild Hunt and DLC. The DLC was solid.
Donut County - NS 6/10 Katamari styled game with a funny story and characters to go with.
Doki Doki literature club - PC 8/10 an interesting little game. Not for everyone but I liked it.
Dragon Quest 11 - NS 8/10 Big ass jrpg. I'm amazed at how well gritty story parts are conveyed in a cute art style. You will get your moneys worth in time here!
Lion King - NS 6.5/10 Great platformer for its time 8.5/10 but against modern games, it's showing its age.
Alladin - NS 6/10 Great platformer fits in the same bracket as the Lion King just showing its age.
Evoland 1 - NS - 6/10  Evoland 1 short game but a game that tries to be different. It's not great but it's definitely worth the experience.
Hollow Knight - NS 9/10 I'm not really a Metroidvania fan but this game is extremely good. A lot of game for your money.
Megaman X - Snes 8/10 I jammed this on game night with Davron doing pass overs (I was carried by Davron who had this game as a kid). I've wanted to get into the series for a while but I'm not the greatest at harder games.
To the Moon - NS 7/10 (gameplay wasn't amazing the story was its glue) I really enjoyed this short experience. Not a long game but a well-told emotional story.
Persona 5 - PS4 -8/10 Torn on rating this 132 hours unlocked 87 percent of the personas (207 not including DLC) It's a great game the art style, RPG elements but the dungeons felt too long the puzzles were too simple. Less is more sometimes if they tightened up the dungeons, shorter but more engaging I'd consider a higher rating (still a huge upgrade on persona 3 and 4, the settings are incredibly diverse). Characters are great. I was 70 hours in feeling a 7/10 but by the time I got the end of this heavily time invested journey I wanted to give it a 9.5/10 the game really gets better in the last 30 hours... The action and story increase momentum. I think a fair rating would be a 9/10 after looking at what they've created here it is a masterpiece in its own right.
198X - NS - 9/10 It's more of a beautiful experience as it's only an hour-long game but it's wrapped a stomach kick of nostalgia. Beautiful pixel art, an 80s soundtrack(with an M83 feel and intensity), and atmospheric! Why aren't more people talking about this gem?! The art style for the 1st beat em up game is what I wish Streets of Rage 4 looked like... The game is so short that I want more, I don't know if that's good or bad. It just left me hungry.
Spyro no.1 in the Dragon Reignited Trilogy - NS 7.5/10 It's not as good as the year of the dragon, the first in the series it's less polished and level design needs some work. Only one final boss that didn't feel like a boss. The rework on the game is great tho.
Streets of Rage II -SMD 7.5/10 A step up from one, however, I like how in 1 you get a decision on the last boss. The 80s theme, music, and feel of this game are great with the added bonus of co-op best played with a friend. It's aged well but the moveset isn't great.
Resident Evil 2 -N64 8.5/10 maybe even a 9/10. A great game making ammo care a priority, great puzzles but the controls have aged like dogshit and milk combined creating an artificial difficulty. Puzzles are but pretty easy, just remembering which rooms are where I got lost trying to find a specific room I had been to earlier. I got a few jump scares and the last boss plus controls made it harder than it needed to be. Graphics hold up well to be fair.
Shinobi III: Return of the ninja master -SMD 8.5/10 may be higher, it's hard to compare games of different eras. Music, Controls, Graphics, Colour and it's all there. solid game! It is hard as hell! I imagine the poor sods who rented this and never beat it. If you only a sega and don't have this...you're missing out.
Kirby Star Allies -NS 6/10 Typical Nintendo Kirby game, quality, decent graphics, colour, collect-o-thon relatively unoffensive but boring. Well crafted but really a children's game that would be more fun co-op aiming at completion.
Until Dawn -PS4 9/10 Scariest game I've ever played. It was great to play with my wife as I don't know if I could finish on my own. I'm terrible with horror films, she's good and it scared the heck out of her too but it was neat to have a game we could both play. Simple game mechanics so great for new players. The animation is a little wooden but a great experience.
Reverie Sweet as Edition -NS 8/10 Set on a fictional island in New Zealand, Kiwiana, pixel art, quality Zelda clone, easy and short game. Highly recommend if you link a Link to the Past.
Spyro Ripto's Rage Reignited Trilogy - NS 8/10 It's better than the first, it's interesting playing all 3 games in the trilogy. Great to see the developments and improvements to the games each time. Year of the Dragon is the best by far. 3 Bosses in this game which I found better than the lack of boss fights in the firsts.
Daemon X Machina -NS 7/10 I'm not really into mechs but I've got the game so hey. The acting was terrible, the tropes were trash and cringe to watch. The story was okay I guess. The mechanics were decent, it was fun building and customising the mech. I committed to finishing it and you know what I had fun. It was good to play something different. It is repetitive tho...especially at the end.
Bastion - NS 7/10 I enjoyed the narration as you play. I'm not sure how to really describe this game action rpg, nice mechanics and a variety of weapon choices. There's some depth here which is nice the game mission structure got a little tiresome tho. A pretty sweet little story here.
Bloodstained Ritual of the night - NS 8.5/10 I'm a rookie with metriodvanias hollow knight was my first and this is much easier you can grind to win haha! A huge amount of options for combat, weapons, shards, and strategies. It had moments of lag and glitches but for me, that didn't ruin the experience. I love this game was addicted to playing and exploring more. I finished the game with the bad ending then, kept playing to kill all the secret bosses and fully explored the map and got the true ending. Highly recommend this game.
Comix Zone - SMD 8/10 The 90s comic themed direction is executed perfectly! It is one of the best looking and most unique sega mega drive games I think I've seen! It's pretty good in its combat fluidity and these enemies have some health. You will spend a lot of time beating down each enemy but I think it's a good thing instead of flooding you with the same shitty enemy you have a few stronger ones. The game to me is short but tough maybe I'm just not very good?
Sonic Blast 3D - SMD 5.5/10 The isometric controls are diabolical and slippery the entire game feels like it's on ice! The platforming is so simple, which is fine but I think it had to be this way to compensate for the controls. The game formula is to find and kill 5 enemies, a bird pops out, take the birds to a power ring it opens a gate and do this 3 times. Take 50 rings to Tails or Knuckle and win the mini-game 7 times to gain all chaos gems needed for the true ending. Every 3rd level will be a Dr Robotnic fight. Now reading this you probably think I hate this game... I really enjoy it. I played this on PC as a kid and it's my favourite sonic game as I've gotten older the 2D sonic games just piss me off. They're designed to feel fast have flow but the entire game is designed to slow you down. You often can't see and predict what you're about to encounter, and platform to actually play the game. It feels a lot like chance and cheap deaths. It's more a game of repetition, luck, and memory. I think the first time you play a sonic game getting to the end is less skill and more just being patient, hoping you jumped at the right time to avoid a slow grinding halt, avoiding needing to backtrack to find an area to build momentum and get to the finish along another path. Maybe I just need to 'get good' but the magic of sonic 2 I remember as a kid is gone, possibly I enjoyed it because I was Tails, could fly, it was co-op and I was helped.
Guardian Heroes - S Saturn 8.5/10 An interesting approach to the beat em up genre, I would compare it to Knights of the round or Streets of Rage. Its main point of difference would be the playing field is on 3 plains of depth, using back, mid, and foreground. These are controlled by the shoulder buttons allowing you to use the D-pad for better combo control. Street Fighter specials in a sense this adds to the combat of the game. The game adds rpg stats you can level up and the end of each stage. The gameplay feels a little janky and slow but that might be my fault for not putting enough points into agility. This game was ahead of its time with combat, choices determining levels you'll play and 7 or 8 different endings with 5 different final bosses I believe.
Goldeneye 007 -N64 8.5/10 and for it's time 9.5/10. I'm playing this on n64 with the two controller option for dual analog, I highly recommend this option! I do not know how people played this with a single analog stick?! Great game the controls and controller for a fps sadly didn't age well and the twin controller setup fixes this. I found this game decently hard! Even in twin-stick taking out the original controller artificial difficulty. Multiple objectives based on difficulty, this game was sooooooo far ahead of its time and 4player multiplayer!
Final Fantasy X  Remastered - NS  9/10 Just wanted to play it a little 60 hours later I'm hunting celestial weapons and in love with the game again.  The mechanics hold up, the acting is still shit, the story and character arcs are still amazing. Reduced the score to a 9, this is the final fantasy I'd use to introduce casuals as the combat is easy to learn the graphics aren't as rough as the ps1 and the turn-based combat is at it's best here.
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition - NS 9/10 I have been waiting in anticipation and fear for this since the announcement. Context Xenoblade came out when I was a broke uni student and we had a hacked Wii. It came out in an era of the xbox 360 and when PS3 was finding it's feet, an era with limited good jrpgs. An era with a steaming pile of sh*t... FFXIII. I went into this game expecting nothing and it blew my mind. It starts simple enough, grindy rpg a few hours in I was hooked seemed like a simplistic revenge plot. Later the story evolves with a few twists and turns and it dramatically expands across a 50-60 hour main story. I love this game it's cemented as one of my favourite jrpgs of all time. My fear... I fear, I just loved the game with rose-tinted glasses, what if it's actually shit and held up by its lack of competition in that era and my low expectations. 10 years later it's announced there's a remake coming new hardware rebuilt in a new engine. Please please please don't fu*k this up. I'm 50 hours in after 4 or 5 days and... I am totally hooked! I'm addicted. The acting is shit... the voices are a little mismatched. The music is amazing. The story is still good and the world is big and beautiful. 75 hours and I'm finished and completed a lot of side content. Some of the polish definitely wore off over time, the story isn't as good as I remember maybe I'm more critical now some friends are playing it but I've enjoyed my run through I'd recommend if you like grindy jrpgs and don't mind some corny writing.
New Super Lucky Tale - NS  7/10 I might have expected too much from this game. There were some good reviews after its re-release on switch and redevelopment. It had its moments but overall lacked charm, there are just better platformers to play out there. If you've finished all the other top tier 3D platformers and you're craving one, sure give it a go.
Darksouls - PS4  9.5/10 This is now one of my favourite games of all time, it feels a bit like a 10/10 tbh. It's not as hard as some say, which was one of the main things that stopped me from playing it in the first place( I don't really find value in just suffering because a game is hard, just to be ...hard). For the most part, the game is very... fair. There are moments of bullshit, if you don't know what it is that is needed to be done.
It's a well-designed game and very rewarding when you can finally take down an enemy that stomped you at level 8(Havel)... I finally got my revenge, I took out a black knight early after a well-fought battle and thought Havel was well another black knight... The bugger stomped me 3 times until I got the point. I tried to beat the first tutorial boss with a broken sword hilt, nearly got him too after a 15-20 minute battle(Until I was informed you run past him and come back).
Level design is pretty good, I wish you had more variety of warp points. I got pretty good at remembering paths but some you still need to traverse quite a bit. I think some levels were harder than most bosses, the tomb of the giants with no light is a bit of a shit time, I guess a second play through you know you can use the sunmaggot and you know the layout better. Anor Londo Archers were easy when I knew a tactic to deal with them but, damn did they make my life hell for a small portion of the game...if you know you know.
The only bosses that caught me out were Quelagg I was a low level, cursed (permanent half health), and dealing with poison. So I had to kill her in a perfect run with no hits or GG(it felt like an eternity maybe 20 plus times) and the last boss Gwyn gave me a whooping, until I changed armour and got good... When I completed the game I automatically started to play through again, I guess that demonstrates its replayability and how good it really is. Level design and boss design are top-notch and the best part is I can play Darksouls 2,3 and Bloodborne. So I've got more to look forward to.
Darksouls 2 - PS4  9/10 I've been struggling to give this a number. It feels like an 8.5, I think after the hours I spent with it I got burnt out. A much more linear game than DS1 and the level design is good but less connected than DS1. I guess that's hard to do when there is soo much content, I basically did all the DLC and base game(I didn't wanna fight Smelter Demon 2.0). The game is great value there is a lot to do here! You level up quickly in this game I like how you really feel you grow throughout the game(I was LVL 209 end game). One criticism is the difficulty here seems cheap instead of better and more skillful enemies, they just throw a lot of ambush enemies and just increase the number. The boss design was less inspired I felt. It felt like a tougher game in places you could tell when you had your butt kicked, because after you kill and enemy 10 times they stop respawning. It really encouraged grinding to level up but then also discouraged it by de-spawning enemies haha.
Darksouls 3 - PS4 9.5/10 Love this game it's did feel too long Finished every boss in the base game but don't have the DLC so I'll do that another time. This felt much more like DS1 and the bosses were amazing in design and mechanics a few a little too easy but there were times where I had my ass beaten by enemies. level design great, music great, and overall atmosphere great. I don't like how tough it is to level up stats, if you want to use armor you'll be punished, to not just slow-rolling but a walk with no roll at all. You most likely won't even make it to a point where you can equip the good armour because of weight I was at level 94 end game and I could only equip a dress if I wanted to use a big sword and shield. I really disliked this like why incentivise armour stats and then keep them out of reach. I shouldn't have to play the game through 2 or 3 times just to equip a set of armour and you can't level up the light armour because they removed leveling up armour so it got a bit stupid here in its design. Great game love it but I tried to play it like I played DS1 and DS2 but the game doesn't really work that way.
Bloodborne - PS4 8...or 8.5/10. This game had me soo pissed off and angry for the first 3 hours. I was so used to a play style that I had built up, over the recent completion of Dark Souls 1,2 and 3. The fact it's the same but not, had me thown. It felt so farmilar and yet it wasn't. No shield to feel out enemy moveset, I'd bump shield and instead change weapon format and take damage, I'd parry and waste bullets. You could say there were teething issues..., it felt much harder to start with. Once I'd beaten the first boss it just clicked for me, the perk of healing from attack seemed a little broken at time but scaled well with differculty later.
Only 2 bosses that I felt were tough, Amelia and the Final Boss. The rest of the game seemed too easy to be a Souls game, minus a kidnapping that happened a little earlier than it should've? That had me raging, it didn't help that I was well below the level I should've been there and when I returned later it was a cake walk. Most bosses you arrive at just fall over, I don't mind that they're still fun.
Good game but a lot of your enjoyment will be based on your personal play style and like/dislike of the Victorian era. It feels a little like the atmosphere in "The league of extrodinary gentlemen", as much as I like the film, dark gloomy victorian scenery doesn't do it for me visually.
Great game eventually won me over, Jordan had to endure my complaints. Poor lad.
Streets of Rage 4 - Xbox1 7/10 a nice throwback, I must admit I was extremely disappointed by the art direction watching the development of this game. Being a huge fan of the original 3 and the 16-bit art style I felt this just didn't connect well enough. After playing it I did change that opinion it has the weight and feel of the original. Lots of hidden secrets, when I got to unlock the 16-bit character and getting to play as them again just felt right. I really dislike the bloated take on the og characters I'm not sure if it bothered anyone else just didn't feel like the 90s. The game didn't really push the Beat em up genre at all. Small move-set, you couldn't even run but overall a simple game. I'm glad they made it but I expected more, the game was really refined and did the small things right but overall you don't get much more than the original games.
River City Girls - NS 8/10 A really nice spin on the beat em up genre, few objectives, voice acting, great writing, a wonderful throwback and sequel to River city ransom or Street gangs in pal regions. A bright vibrant, layered combat game with a great soundtrack and great couch co-op. This game is what I really wanted from Streets of Rage, it had more depth. A really fun play through even if the missions became pesky fetch quests and the shops were great beable to extend the moves and combos. The girls actually had personality and laugh out loud moments just a really well-done game with music and style to match.
Demon Souls - PS3 torn 7.5 or 8/10, I had a brutal time with this game. I was told it's the easiest in the 'Souls' series and it kicked my arse harder than any 'Souls' game I'd played before... I wanted to try a magic build and I had noooo idea what I was doing to I went half strength, half magic and I just ended up shit at both... I can't blame the game for me being an idiot. I do like the game and really enjoyed it, until I hit a wall with my build. it is very interesting to see where the games got their character from, great game! As I rounded out my build (after going through hell and back to get a spell 'firestorm' which I didn't even end up using...) this games music, bosses, and design I can't fault. Stella game just felt a lot harder than the others however, I did steamroll the 2nd half of the game. The janky-ness is there I died maybe 20 times falling to weird clipping. If you're a died hard fan go for it, if not I'd wait for the ps5 remake and cross fingers they refine it and sand down some sharp edges.

Now this is some quality content. And game related too! We have been blessed. Clearly im not pulling my weight. Benswitch for forum admin?

Metal slug 6 ain't on the RetroPie man, so you must mean 5... But im positive we never played 5. It took 5 games to add a new mechanic (ground sliding) and im sure we didn't play that one yet cause I would have remembered myself talking insistently about that and gushing further about Metal Slug. I vote we play 5 next time even if somehow we did play it, then we know for sure haha.

Then we could play 6 on the Wii collection...

I too will do a list, but ill need to go over Steam/PS4 etc. trophy and achievement stats to see what i really played and when.

I can do a few off the top of my head though as I haven't played much this year:

2019:
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Played it on PS4. From Softwares latest game. Probably their best so far, my fav so far and pretty equal with Bloodborne. Amazing combat and gameplay. I haven't played a game this hard but so rewarding in my life. 10/10

Wargroove - Been waiting for an Advance Wars successor for a long time, and I somehow missed all the buzz around this game 2 years ago when it was kickstarted. It's fantastic. What I wanted and more. Decent campaign mode, top multiplayer, really good map editing/creation tools. Fantastic custom scenario/event tools. I want more content already. Sunk 110+ hours into it already. 8-9/10 (i have minor gripes stopping the full 10/10)

Shakedown: Hawaii - from the creators of the 8bit Retro City Rampage comes there new 16bit openworld GTA-like game. Much better than the frist, but still leaves alot to be desired. I've sorta fallen off this one due to Dark Souls. 6-7/10 so far.

Dark Souls 2 - as posted in my other thread I started this game a month or so ago. Goddam fantastic. So good, got me right back into the Souls games. 8-9/10 easy.

Dark Souls 3 - haven't finished it yet but about 70% through I'd say. waaaay better than 2, really fluid and fast combat, looks great, plays great, and kicks my ass. What more could you ask for. 9/10 so far.

Risk of Rain 2 - oh boy I've been waiting for this game for such a long time. I loved the first game. Love the gameplay loop
(similar too Spelunky, Nuclear Throne, Enter the Gungeon in that regard). You die but just want to go again or you either die and just want to cry and never play again. It's the only game in my recent and far memory that has been able to move from 2D to 3D and still work so well. They nailed that transition. Can't wait for further updates with new content (it's still early access atm). 8/10 so far.

2018:
God of War - holy fucking shit this game. What a reboot for a franchise. I tend to gush and exaggerate a lot about games, because if im happy, then I tend to score the game well without having to get too critical on it. But beleive me when I say this game is a TRUE 10/10 no hyperbole here the game is top shelf shit. The combat alone is 10/10. Its just so good. Add in everything else for an amazing game. 11/10

Read Dead Redemption 2 - this is gonna be an unpopular opinion for sure, but man I fell into the hype of this game. First time in a long time probably. It's just GTA but the with cowboys. Now I know people are gonna be like "yeah, no duh" but really it feels not much different than GTA V gameplay-wise. And the gameplay in GTA is passable at best. But you dont mind cause you are playing it for silly fuck around and do anything fun. The gameplay holds RD2 back so much. It's clunky, really slow, and the gun play is traaaaaaasshh. Holy fuck is impossible to manually aim in this game without the autoaim and assist options on. I could go on, but I won't. Besides that is truely fantastic. Incredible graphics, awesome open world, infinite things to do, great story etc. Just, you know, the MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL: gameplay, isn't the best. All the positive points really bring up its score, which saying a lot 8/10

Octopath Traveler - fantastic game that I only played one of the character campaigns of. It's great, and reminiscent of classic Final Fantasy games. But didn't hook me enough to play the other campaigns. Nice graphics, good gameplay, beautiful sound track 8/10

Dragon Ball Fighterz - The best fucking fighter to come out in a long time! (besides Tekken 7 most likely). Arc System Works does it again. 10/10 for style alone. Tight fucking fighter and i love it but no one of my friends play it on my level 9/10

A Way Out - a really unuqiue 2 player coop game that came out last year. Nothing game changing gameplay-wise. Standard 3rd person action/shooter game really. But the way it plays in coop (which is the whole point) is why its so good. Really enjoyed this one. Can't wait to see what Mr. FUCK THE OSCARS has next up his sleeve. 8/10

Spider-Man PS4 - A really really really good Spider-Man game. First decent one since idk when. The gameplay is so good. Great combat, really good movement with his web slinging. Such a joy to play. This would have been my personal goty if God of War hadn't been so incredible already. 9/10

Moss - VR game for PSVR/PC etc. Nothing special on paper, but in VR its really good. Short game, 5 hours maybe? Play as a cute little mouse with a tiny sword fighting bugs and shit. Story driven, great little immersive VR experience. 7/10

Astro Bot Rescue Mission - secretly GOTY 2018. This game is incredible. Redefining the platforming genre in VR. It's so good and innovative. A joy to play with great level design, locations, music and gameplay mechanics. 10/10

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - best 4 player left for dead clone of 2018 for sure. Most members of the forum all jammed this together last year for 40 hours or so. Great game, great class systems, great levels, fun as fuck. Need to play it again soon for the new DLC's. 8/10

I went a little further as I remember 2018 games I played. Probably played way more but this is what i have down so far.

Always interesting to see how our taste in games varies and how we rate our games I feel like I'm ruthless on rating, if 10 is perfection(perfection within an era as advancements and innovation will eventually take and evolution in gaming) or in the ball park of I'll rip games I love down to 7's to give weight to truly great games.

There are games like War groove I've played inside out but haven't beating the campaign. How does one beat Mario Party, Mario Kart, Wind Jammers etc. For multiplayer do we say if it's had an investment of 10 hours, 15 hours or more?

I'll edit my post update things as I remember and add games I remember... Just remembered Batman VR short game but woke me up to an immersive experience! Loved the small puzzles and end. I was just looking around my game room to remember games I'd played recently so not a complete list of completed games but an insight to my taste as a gamer I love JRPGs but time is a precious commodity. I think it's the idea I can grind my way past difficulty and takes the anxiety out of gaming as you can over prepare and whoop ass.

Yeah you can't "beat" or "finish" some games. But if you've played them for even a few hours you can pass judgement on them for sure. I'd say not completing the Wargroove campaign doesn't take much away from it. The true experience for us has been the multiplayer experience with friends.

Yeah game ratings are always personal and subjective. It's always opinion, always varies from person to person. A great game can usually be judged by the wider consensus around it however. As said, im usually easy to please. Only games I really sunk time into or go back to, I can really get critical on.

Will do the rest of my post when home. Will do 2017 which we all know was BREATH OF THE WILD BABY HAHAHAHA 10/10

Alrightyy then time to add those 10 hour plus multiplayer games. Side note Breath of the wilds name could easily have been named 'Risk of Rain' and maybe a more appropriate name.

switch to age of empires 2 only game you'll ever need

Games 'won' but definitely not 100%'ed

2017:
West of Loathing - 7/10 I could've fallen harder in love with it, I blame myself

2018:
Streets of Rogue - 5/10 fun but not worth the time

2019:
definitely not dark souls - 0/10

yeah exactly

buyers remorse for those hours of my life I binged into an unfinished, frustrating beta of a game half tipsy while rewatching mediocre tv
like, overlaying 3 underwhelming experiences occupies your brain but you look back and yikes

I'm so bad at age of empires I like it but I've played warcraft 3 a simple version lol and they're great!

(2019:definitely not dark souls - 0/10 ) - Hahhahaha!

'West of Loathing' and 'Streets of Rogue' I'm going to google these! :)
